Hassan Hajjaj is a contemporary Moroccan artist who is no longer presented with his creations (objects, furniture, clothing, photos), marked by their humor and their colors, with a unique Moroccan-Wahrolian style.
He lives between London and Marrakech where he opened the doors of his Riad Pop, the boutique gallery, tea room "Riad Yima" 5 min from Jemaa el Fna square, a stone's throw from Place des épices.
Photographer and designer, his concert-store faithfully reproduces his artistic universe characterized by the diversion of images from the consumer society. Everything is colorful, sassy, except that at Hassan Hajjaj's humor is never fierce. Slippers stamped Vuitton, screen-printed Djellabas, paint cans, stools, traffic signs, coffee tables ... His postmodern creations reflect a critical look full of tenderness for popular Moroccan culture. Faithful to his trademark, the diversion of objects and the parody of brand images, the Artist has made Riad Yima his exclusive showcase, the embodiment of his unbridled universe, in a crazy pop art spirit. A perfect opportunity to contemplate all these Maghreb stereotypes erected as works of art while sipping a good mint tea in the patio nestled in the middle of the magnificent medina of Marrakech.
